Suse Fernandes Silveiro

My name is Suse Silveiro, I am 35 years old and I am a physiotherapist from Portugal- Setúbal. I went to Manchester Neurotherapy Centre for a single one week in August 2008.

I have been a physiotherapist since 1994, and I have been working with only adult neurological patients since 1999 in different clinics in Portugal. It is my choice and it is a pleasure to work with these patients. I always follow the Bobath concept to treat my patients. I met Lynne and Linzi in the different Courses that they have done in Portugal, and I love the way they work. So I decided to visit their Centre in Manchester, so that I could receive more individual learning about the Bobath Concept.

In this year I did it. My goals where to learn more, about how to work with neurological patients and to accompany one of my patient- Mr Ricardo Ferreira, who is my patient in Portugal, and so I could follow him better on is return to Portugal.

I have to say that I loved the experience to work so close with Lynne, Linzi and also the other colleagues, like Charlotte and Karen, to know different people, patients and their families, but who have the same needs, and the same motivation to get better, to get a more productive and happier life.

I would recommend this experience to all my colleagues. I assure you that we learned a lot with people that are as dedicated to their work as like the physiotherapist that work in Manchester Neurotherapy Centre.

For me it was more than only one week , I will never forget this experience, and I think that some day I will return, to learn more, because our patients need it, and deserve it.
